As an adult looking to have a beautiful smile, the choice of appliance will depend on what concerns you have with your smile, the type of bite correction needed, the anticipated treatment time frame, and what you feel comfortable wearing. This often revolves around a conversation around your needs first as we discuss your smile and bite correction. Generally speaking, braces can still treat a wider range of bite conditions more effectively than Invisalign. Occasionally, we combine this to obtain the benefits of the greater comfort with Invisalign and the predictability with braces.
With discreet options available for treatment, you can straighten your teeth and feel confident during this process. Appliance options for treatment range from clear outside braces, to hidden braces attached behind the teeth, to clear removable aligners like Invisalign.
More and more adults are considering orthodontic treatment. Many adults may have previously been in a position where their parents were not able to afford orthodontic treatment but are now able to proceed.
More and more adults are considering discreet treatment options that fit within their lifestyle. There are DISCREET options that allow you to have orthodontic treatment undertaken without anyone noticing. You DO NOT need to have regular metal braces worn.
We find in most adults, the answer is Yes. Invisalign or Clear Correct are generally more comfortable appliances compared with braces. Also, the instances of accidental breakages with Invisalign or Clear Correct treatment are lesser compared than with braces. More importantly, eating is easier as you would take the appliance to eat (something you can't do with braces) and keeping your teeth clean is also quicker and easier.
There is a option called Invisalign, which are a series of clear removable aligner plates that help to gradually move your teeth. Feedback from our patients is that this is a more comfortable experience than braces. This also provides the maximum flexibility with eating, as you remove these plates when eating.

For mild to moderate crowding, both braces and Invisalign or ClearCorrect are equally effective in straightening teeth.
The key point with Invisalign or ClearCorrect is they are removable, whereas braces are fixed, so Invisalign and ClearCorrect will only work if worn for 20-22 hours a day. If you are not able to meet this time duration, there is a greater chance of the clear aligner plates not fitting and your teeth straightening not going according to plan.
Clearcorrect is a more recent type of clear removable aligners that moves teeth in stages, as with Invisalign. For marked crowding and large spaces in the back teeth that need closing, braces can be more effective.
